Overview
Aperture gives freight forwarders, 3PLs, and shippers a single source of truth across carriers, customs, and warehouses — automating reconciliation, exceptions, and pricing.
Problem
Global logistics still runs on email, spreadsheets, and 30-year-old EDI. Forwarders lose 15-20% of margin to manual ops and reconciliation errors.
Solution
Aperture ingests every carrier, customs, and warehouse signal in real time, normalizes it, and automates the workflows that today require 6+ tools and 4+ teams.
Why now
LLMs finally make unstructured logistics data tractable. Post-COVID, every shipper is rebuilding their tech stack.
Product
A unified ops cloud: shipment graph, exception engine, pricing copilot, and customer portal — all on one schema.
Customer / ICP
Mid-market freight forwarders and 3PLs ($50M-$1B revenue) running NetSuite/CargoWise and 4+ disconnected tools.
Business model
SaaS — per-seat platform fee + usage-based pricing on automated workflows.
Go-to-market
Founder-led sales into the top 200 US forwarders; channel partnerships with CargoWise integrators.
Differentiation
Only platform that unifies the shipment graph, pricing, and customer experience on one schema.
Milestones
Q1 2024: incorporated. Q3 2024: 3 design partners signed. Q1 2025: $420K ARR, first paid expansion.
About the founder
Former staff engineer at Flexport. Second-time founder. Operator, optimizer, ex-mathlete.
Why I'm building this
Supply chains run on duct tape. After five years inside one of the largest forwarders in the world, I saw how much margin and resilience is lost to manual reconciliation. Aperture is the system I wish existed.
Experience
Flexport (Staff Eng, 5y) — built the freight pricing engine. Earlier: Two Sigma, Palantir.
Education
BS Computer Science, MIT
Traction
Three paid design partners, $420K ARR after 6 months, 142% net revenue retention.
Use of funds
Engineering hires (4), GTM (1 AE), and 18 months of runway to reach $2M ARR.
